Drug Plastics recently developed its new GripMax™ Text Top Child-Resistant Closure. GripMax™ is built on our industry-leading SecuRx® technology. Every GripMax™ closure consists of a polypropylene SecuRx® closure which is then bound with a TPE coating on the exterior surface. The exterior surface is fully coated except for a small band near the bottom of the closure and the text on the top.
Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) have physical properties which are similar to latex, silicone, or rubber. Specifically, they are widely used to create highly comfortable coatings on items where grip is critical. The can be found on everything from hammers to hairbrushes. Additionally, we believe TPE is an excellent choice for improving surface resistance on plastic closures because of its ease of molding and its acceptance in the health and medical fields.
The improved grip of the GripMax™ closures means elderly consumers and those with weak hand strength have an easier time opening up the bottle. This provides a packaging advantage which can be marketed. Additionally, GripMax™ allows for bicolored closures – a unique packaging opportunity within the industry. Specifically, the SecuRx™ closure can be one color and the TPE coating can be another color.
GripMax™ is currently designed in a 45 mm size. To learn more about our GripMax™ closure, please contact us.
